Aqua Online still waiting

Aqua Online, which last year announced plans to delist from the JSE, still appears on the exchange's boards because of delays in receiving approval for its move.

Aqua announced in December that it would delist and make an initial distribution of 14c a share to its shareholders.

Its plans involve a series of deals to dispose of its gaming and enablement divisions as going concerns.

The proceeds are to be used to delist the company, which will be carried out by a voluntary winding-up of the listed shell after the disposals.

However, the group issued a warning at the end of May that it was still awaiting certain approvals before it could issue a circular. It also said that its plans might have to be restructured before approval could be received.

Aqua published a further cautionary notice this morning saying that it is still waiting for approval.

CEO Brent Shahim was out of the office this morning and could not be reached for comment.
