Archer also engaged KPMG's Information Protection and Business Resilience Practice to validate the solution's design and functionality.
Disaster recovery gains ground
Malaysian companies are now more serious about investing in disaster recovery systems which are becoming a priority in their business operations amid the unfavourable economic climate, reports The Malaysia Star.
US-based security and storage company Symantec, which found this in its latest survey, attributed the trend to the increase in downtime costs and stringent IT service level requirements.
Symantec Malaysia MD, Suzie Tan, says disaster recovery systems were gaining prominence in the business community as such systems ensured continuity of businesses, protected revenue and reduced downtime cost in the event of a disruption.
IBM expects IaaS hype
Similar to the enterprise-adoption hype that software-as-a-service (SaaS) is having nowadays, IBM expects the same trend to happen with its new solutions offering called infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) - leveraging mostly on big blue's data security solutions, states The Industry Standard.
Linus Lee, executive of IBM global technology services in ASEAN, says IBM's IaaS aims to provide local clients with cloud-based security information protective services.
These include remote data protection and onsite data protection, both designed to efficiently back up client's data for easy recovery in disaster incidents.
