Since the beginning of 2004, ARIS 6.21 users have a more ergonomic user interface to support them in their work. Numerous simplifications in the graphical editor save time and so boost efficiency. In addition, ARIS is now productive on SUN Solaris and Windows 2003 server platforms and also database systems such as MS SQL Server.
Not only when it comes to technology but also content, ARIS sets worldwide standards. The software for business process management is now available in 16 languages and Version 6.21 includes IT City Planning, a new method for the integrated presentation, planning and optimization of heterogeneous IT landscapes.
Many software projects exceed their budgets or even fail because the software development process is not seamless. In many cases, this is ultimately due to the discrepancies between ways of thinking, methodologies and tools in the technical and implementation departments. The ARIS UML Designer represents a tool that overcomes these discrepancies. In its current version, ARIS UML Designer provides new model types and its XML Import/Export function enables data to be transferred between ARIS and Case tools. This paves the way to seamless solutions for Model Driven Architecture.
ARIS Connectivity for Eclipse acts as a bridge between object-oriented modeling and software development. This component allows Eclipse, the IBM development environment, to access the ARIS Repository. Now developers can work on the (UML) data from ARIS directly in their development environment.
As a result of the development cooperation with SAP AG, the ARIS methods and tools will also become standards on the SAP NetWeaver technology platform. The first important step under this cooperation arrangement is the integration of ARIS for mySAP in the SAP Solution Manager. The current ASAP successor SAP Solution Manager provides an innovative platform with integrated contents, procedures and tools, which for example allows direct penetration to customizing. The benefit for the users lies in a considerable reduction in time and effort, beginning with initial process configuration during system implementations through to operation and continuous process monitoring and optimization.
Customers can begin reaping all the advantages of a consistent business process management system today with ARIS, ARIS for mySAP, ARIS Process Performance Manager (ARIS PPM) and IDS Scheer AG consulting services, and transfer all their process information to SAP NetWeaver at a later date. The finished solution will be available together with the SAP NetWeaver Release announced for 2005.
