ARMCO Superlite has been operating in SA since the 1930s and is a leading manufacturer of steel construction and road safety products. It is one of SA`s largest galvanising plants, having a range of hot dip and spinning facilities. ARMCO is both a local and international supplier, exporting to many of the world`s leading construction companies, and agencies in the civil engineering and road building industry.
ARMCO recently contracted On-Site Training to fulfil its IT training requirements. On-Site Training is a South African-based company dedicated to developing the computer skills of SA through its accomplished computer trainers and office staff. On-Site Training provides IT training tailored to the needs of an organisation. It focuses on the individual and personalises training according to the company`s specific requirements. All training is conducted on-site.
Twenty-three Of ARMCO`s personnel are currently undergoing training. One of On-Site Training`s contract trainers has, over the last two months, trained each employee in a series of one or two hour sessions. All trainers are ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) certified. Training will focus on basic PC overviews, Microsoft Excel 2000, Word 2000, StarWrite 5.2 and StarCalc 5.2. On-Site Training is one of the few IT organisations that offer courses on Sun`s StarOffice suit.
