Ascential achieves Microsoft Certified Partner status

Johannesburg, 24 Mar 2003

Microsoft has certified Ascential Software`s Enterprise Integration Suite as fully compatible with Windows 2000. This status enables Ascential to extend its leadership in the enterprise integration market by leveraging the continuous flow of technologies from Microsoft today and into the future.

"With Microsoft Certified Partner status, Ascential has indicated to its customers that it intends to be on the forefront of supporting Microsoft`s Windows Platform strategy," says Julian Field, MD of South African Ascential distributor CenterField Software. "As a Certified Partner, Ascential obtains early access to new technologies from Microsoft, which enables it to deliver innovations ahead of products of competitors who have not achieved this status."

Ascential intends to deliver versions of its products that fully use Microsoft operating systems as they become available. In order to obtain certified status, it was necessary to earn Windows 2000 Certification, making it the first enterprise data integration solution certified on that platform.

Using compliant Windows 2000 applications may allow customers to increase the stability of their systems and lower their total costs of ownership.

"As an Ascential customer, we applaud its achieving Microsoft Certified Partner status," says Jim Keene, enterprise data warehouse project manager of Harley-Davidson. "This gives us confidence that Ascential`s products will leverage and smoothly interact with Microsoft platform technologies now and in the future."

Ascential is now allowed to use the Microsoft Certified Partner logo, which provides an easy way for customers to recognise Ascential solutions as certified by Microsoft. Microsoft offers a variety of resources to programme members, including training, technical support, early access to Microsoft products and peer networking opportunities that allow a variety of partners to come together and provide end-to-end customer solutions.

"When customers are looking to implement a Microsoft technology solution for their business, their best bet is to turn to an expert - a Microsoft Certified Partner," says Margaret Cobb, ISV Group Manager for Microsoft.

"Microsoft provides its Certified Partners with in-depth access to existing and emerging Microsoft technologies and related training and resources to help ensure that they have the technical intimacy needed to deliver quality solutions. Microsoft recognises Ascential enterprise integration solutions for demonstrating this level of expertise, and welcomes it as a new Microsoft Certified Partner."

Ascential leads the market for enterprise integration with the industry`s only enterprise integration suite. The Ascential Suite allows customers to spread data integration processes across an unlimited number of processors through parallel processing. This unlimited scalability is critical to high-volume and real-time data integration. Many of today`s most competitive enterprises are deploying Ascential solutions to transform their large, complex, and constantly growing data flows into intelligent information by feeding that information into such strategic applications as customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, business intelligence/analytics, data warehouses, and other enterprise applications. This, in turn, allows customers to achieve the ROI they originally expected from those applications.
