Motherboard manufacturer, together with local distributor Corex, has introduced South African users to the new 939Dual-SATA2 motherboard with AGP and PCle.
This fully-fledged ATX board is based on the ULi M1695/M1567 chipset and supports:
* Dual Core CPU for AMD Athlon 64/64FX/64X2
* FSB1000MHz (2.0GT/s)
* AMD Cool`n`Quiet; and Hybrid booster, SFS, Asrock U-Cop and B.F.G.
* PCI Express (ASrock A.G.I Express Slot) / AGP VGA interface for surround display of up to four monitors
For those users that require higher and fastest CPU performance, the socket 939 platform fitted with dual-core and 64-bit CPU would be an excellent choice.
Additionally, PCI Express x1 slot allows users to connect other hi-speed peripheral cards. Plus, to further boost hard disk performance, the 939Dual-SATA2 is designed with Jmicron SATA II controller, a superior specification with a processing speed of 3.0Gb/s, twice the speed of Serial ATA.
However, those users who prefer Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s, will find two onboard ports included.
The graphics performance of PCI Express and AGP is exceptional with excellent results in PCI E and AGP performance from 3DMark 2003 and 3DMark 2005.
"Additionally the 939Dual-SATA2 comes with 4 DIMMs of Dual Channel DDR400, the most practical memory specification along with other useful functions such as 7.1 Channel Superior Quality Audio, 10/100 Ethernet LAN, and 4-ready-to-use USB2.0 ports on board to satisfy most needs," comments Stephan Coertsen at Corex.
Tests conducted on the 939Dual-SATA2 and NF3/NF4 boards were found to be comparable with reference boards, and in some instances the 939Dual-SATA2 even surpassed benchmark figures attained.
