AST ERP Solutions, a business unit of the AST Group, has successfully completed a SAP HR migration for Iscor Coke and Chemicals (ICC), a leading supplier of Carbon products and regenerated acid products to the metals industry in southern Africa, as well as a global supplier of Magnetic Powders.
As an affiliate of Iscor and to be in line with the `one Iscor` strategy, it was necessary for ICC to migrate from an ASP hosted HR application to the Iscor SAP HR system, to ensure the optimisation of synergies and economies of scale as well as standardisation and unified performance.
The system will also integrate with the various SAP logistics systems within Iscor.
AST ERP Solutions executed this project in close partnership with the Iscor Centre of Excellence (CoE). Much of the success of the project can be attributed to this co-operative model that was used.
AST ERP Solutions was also responsible for the implementation of SAP R/3 for ICC - at the time it was known as Suprachem. "Our existing knowledge of ICC and Iscor, as well as SAP application environments allowed us to successfully migrate without disrupting general business processes," explains Pieter Boshoff, GM of AST ERP Solutions.
"In partnership with the Iscor Center of Excellence, AST ERP Solutions` professional support and flexibility has created a firm platform for us to build a world-class information system, which will be used to exploit and strengthen ICC`s performance to achieve best practices," says Hester Swart, General Manager of Iscor`s Centre of Excellence. "Now comes the most important phase, to further extract the powerful capabilities of the SAP system."
