AST ESM`s go-to-market model strengthened

Johannesburg, 22 Feb 2002

Delivering on its current go-to-market model, which addresses the areas vital to the success of any enterprise solutions management implementation, AST Enterprise Solutions Management (ESM) has announced the consolidation of its systems management offerings under one division.

AST Systems Management will focus on improving the quality of service and reducing the cost of ownership. It has brought together products, people and processes to provide a unique service offering. Representing some of the world`s leading software companies, AST Systems Management has taken best-of-breed technologies and has combined them with world-class practices and a proven implementation and support service, which will allow its clients to cost-effectively manage complex and challenging IT environments.

"In order to maintain the same level of expertise in our solution offerings, AST ESM has introduced various solution divisions each headed up by a general manager and consisting of their own sales representatives, product managers and software technicians," explains Geoff van den Bosch, MD of AST ESM. "This ensures that each division`s members are specialists in the domains covered by their solutions."

AST Systems Management has refocused their traditional systems management disciplines and technologies into five key domains, namely Microsoft, Networking, OS/390-AS/400, Database and Applications, Data and Storage. These domains allow AST Systems Management to deliver client-centric solutions encompassing multiple technologies, skills and flexible business models.

"This will allow us to continue to focus on processes and people - in addition to the technology - which ensures that we deliver optimum performance and reliability to our client`s systems," adds Haydn Pinnell, General Manager of AST Systems Management.

AST Systems Management casts a wide net, encompassing issues like performance, capacity planning, operations, availability, response time, storage, workload and disaster recovery. It has progressively expanded its range of packaged software offerings to other areas, including utilities, performance enhancement and security management products.

Building on its proven formula for success in the ESM domain, AST Systems Management has strategic alliances with leading IT providers which include CA, HP, Candle, Quest Software and Novadigm.
