AST ERP Solutions, a business unit of the AST Group, recently completed the implementation of SAP R/3 for Suprachem, a leading supplier of carbon products and regenerated acid products to the metals industry in Southern Africa, as well as a global supplier of magnetic powders.
The Suprachem project provided for 150 users and catered for the total spectrum of SAP R/3 across the board, including a Payroll element, Plant Maintenance, Production Planning Quality Management, Materials Management, and Sales and Distribution.
"Suprachem`s drive to implement an ERP product came from the fact that their information systems were fragmented and non-productive," says Pieter Boshoff, General Manager of AST ERP Solutions.
"The 14-week project was completed on time and within budget to the satisfaction of the client, and is considered to be one of the shortest implementations," adds Boshoff. "The completion of such an ambitious project depended on outstanding project management and the full commitment of each team member under extremely demanding circumstances."

It was because we were able to combine all these essential elements that we were able to accomplish this large and complex undertaking so successfully.
