AST to participate at Oracle User Group Conference

Johannesburg, 23 Oct 2002

AST Enterprise Solutions Management (ESM), a division of the AST Group, will once again exhibit its leadership in application management for critical application infrastructures at this year`s southern African Oracle User Group Conference (SAOUG) to be held from 28 to 30 October.

"Organisations today rely on enterprise applications for manufacturing, financials, supply chain management, human resources, customer relationship management - virtually every vital function within a business," explains Haydn Pinnell of AST ESM. "As the reliance on these applications continues to grow, performance and availability become paramount. Simply put, your business is only as good as your application infrastructure."

AST ESM will exhibit at SAOUG with Quest Software, which has successfully grown its market share internationally and locally with its Database Management, High Availability and Application monitoring solutions. AST ESM is the sole distributor for Quest Software in southern Africa.

There will be specific focus on Quest LiveReorg, a unique software solution that provides users with the ability to perform non-intrusive, downtime-free maintenance of Oracle databases. It helps database administrators maintain optimum system performance, prevent wasteful disk utilisation and forecast growth patterns. Quest LiveReorg has already been implemented at two large organisations in the manufacturing sector.

Quest Software will also be on the conference agenda at SAOUG presenting two papers.
