Ireland Blyth Limited - Mauritius, a substantial listed company in Mauritius, has selected Brio One Enterprise, distributed by AST Enterprise Solutions Management (ESM), to provide a comprehensive decision support solution.
The Brio Enterprise suite will be used for extensive group-wide reporting over 12 divisions, which focus on various business activities and industry sectors within the IBL Group, constituting multi-platform reporting from 1 000+ users using JBA ERP system, running off an AS400, Lotus Domino Groupware and other mission-critical applications.
The solution, implemented by IBL Information Technology and AST ESM, a business unit of the AST Group, includes deployment of Brio Insight to enable Web-based reporting and analysis, Brio On Demand Server for report publishing to the Web and Web-enabled database connectivity for true ad-hoc reporting. In addition, the Brio Query Designer will allow for the design and construction of reports and the administration of the database repositories.
Quoted on the Mauritian Stock Exchange, IBL is one of the largest Mauritian-owned and managed corporate, with business interests in the Indian Ocean and Southern African regions. Its IT deployment culminates into complex e-Business Intelligence applications driven by Brio One, to drill into its cross-divisions financials, sales and competitive data.
"The Brio One suite ensures that IBL is able to gain dynamic and relevant views of its business, and to make quick and accurate business decisions," explains Andrew Cook, Manager, Business Intelligence at AST ESM.
IBL`s Shipping, Aviation and Services Business Unit will be included in the deployment, and will utilise Brio for reporting and analysis of the logistics system for reporting lines and volumes in and out. In the process, external competition information, regarding industry-trading volumes will be analysed. Other business companies within the group will be using Brio for marketing and sales analysis.
The IBL Brio One reporting solution offers the highest level of responsiveness to the required analysis and facilitates access to the latest available line-of-business data, utilising the Brio On-Demand Server for the on-demand distribution of Web-based reports.
"Brio Insight will allow IBL users to access the Web and analyse all data on an ad-hoc basis. With the utilisation of the Brio Query Designer, Power Users can manipulate data from various data sources to meet the requirements defined by the various business units within IBL," adds Cook.
IBL intends implementing consolidated financial reporting across the group using Brio and this will commence in June 2001.
