The Meat Corporation of Namibia (Meatco) has selected Brio One Enterprise, distributed by AST Enterprise Solutions Management (ESM), to provide a comprehensive decision support solution.
The solution, implemented by Meatco and AST ESM, a business unit of the AST Group, includes deployment of Brio Insight to enable Web-based reporting and analysis, Brio On Demand Server for report publishing to the Web and Web-enabled database connectivity for true ad-hoc reporting. In addition, the Brio Query Designer will allow for the design and construction of reports and the administration of the database repositories.
Meatco is the largest meat processor in Namibia with abattoirs and beef processing facilities forming the core of the corporation`s business activities.
The corporation has four abattoirs, two of which are approved for export to the European Union (EU), while the other two, situated in the northern part of the country, are used for the slaughter of animals destined for the South African and other world markets. Meatco also operates a tannery to maximise local value-adding of its products.
"The Brio One suite ensures that Meatco is able to gain dynamic and relevant views of its business, and to make quick and accurate business decisions," explains Andrew Cook, Manager Business Intelligence at AST ESM.
The Meatco Brio ONE reporting solution offers the highest level of responsiveness to the required analysis and facilitates access to the latest available line-of-business data, utilising the Brio On-Demand Server for the on-demand distribution of Web-based reports.
"Brio Insight will allow Meatco users to access the Web and analyse all data on an ad-hoc basis. With the utilisation of the Brio Query Designer, Power Users can manipulate data from various data sources to meet their various requirements," adds Cook.
