ASUSTek Computer Inc (ASUS) and Corex, a recently launched distributor of PC and peripheral products, have introduced the SCB-2424V-U, a four-in-one external drive that features CD case-like design for improved portability and disc protection.
Weighing only 250g, the drive fits perfectly in a notebook bag, therefore, ideally suited for business travellers whose notebooks are not equipped with CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or CD-RW functions.
The new SCB-2424V-U provides data storage at 24X CD-Write and 24X CD-ReWrite and data access at 24X CD-ROM and 8X DVD-ROM. Additionally, it features ASUS FlextraLink and FlextraSpeed technologies for flexibility, high-quality recordings and reliable operations.
"The new four-in-one external drive from Asus is ideal for mobile workers that need critical data storage and access while still comfortably fitting the device into their notebook bags," comments Matthew Hall, general manager of Corex.
The combo drive also offers a full range of user-oriented designs such as Play/Skip and Open/Stop buttons on the cover that allow users to play or stop without using a mouse, while an ejection bar at the back of the drive is designed for manual disc ejection during power outage.
Already, the SCB-2424V-U has won numerous awards for excellent industrial designs such as Germany`s iF Award and CETRA`s National Award of Excellence.
