@lantic, a subsidiary of Vox Telecom, has launched ADSL Evolve, a new product that will help existing dial-up customers migrate to a faster ADSL connection at a price comparable to their existing dial-up subscription. ADSL Evolve provides the next step in the evolution from dial-up to broadband.
With the pricing of modern technologies such as ADSL becoming more affordable to the lower-end data users, @lantic took it upon itself to fast track the migration from dial-up to ADSL, by offering current dial-up users the option to switch to ADSL at an extremely competitive price.
“This will mean that dial-up users can enjoy the benefits of ADSL and everything the Internet has to offer at a similar price to what they are currently paying for their dial-up connection,” said Dederick Venter, Sales and Marketing Director at @lantic.
“ADSL Evolve makes ADSL services accessible and affordable to dial-up customers by providing the customer with an all-in-one ADSL access solution without the initial upfront investment. ADSL Evolve includes a 384Kbps ADSL line and router,” adds Venter.
@lantic also handles the ADSL line application on behalf of the customer, making it a seamless change-over from dial-up to ADSL.
ADSL Evolve is priced at a monthly subscription fee of R60 over 12 months, and data usage is charged at 10 cents per MB. Dial-up customers will now be able to pay only for data they use, instead of being billed for every minute they are online.
This means customers will save monthly on their ADSL subscriptions with the discounted line rental, which most South African ISPs offer at R152 per month. To activate the ADSL Evolve service, a once-off fee of R99 is charged.
The router supplied with the ADSL Evolve package is linked at an auto configuration server, making it a simple plug-and-play solution. The router is a single port Billion 5210s RC router/modem, but customers do have the option of upgrading the router to a Billion 5200G RC 4 port wireless router for an additional R30 per month subscription, and R50 set-up fee.
Other features include VOIP compatibility and 100MB hotspot data per month at designated hotspot/WiFi zones, such as local airports, hotels and coffee shops marked with the Always-On WiFi logo.
