AT&T scores lowest in customer satisfaction
wireless providers in the US, Los Angeles Times reports.
"In the newest satisfaction survey of Consumer Reports online subscribers, a provider called Consumer Cellular topped the ratings - and AT&T found itself at the bottom of the ratings for the second year in a row," the magazine said in an article about its survey, which will be published in its January 2012 issue.
The full report features carrier ratings in 22 metropolitan markets, Market Watch says.
In this year's annual Consumer Reports survey on cellphone service providers, more than 66 000 ConsumerReports.org subscribers weighed in about their service and customer support experiences with standard service (billed at month's end) and prepaid providers.
Among the major carriers, Verizon scored high for staff knowledge and data speed quality, while AT&T received low marks for value, voice quality and over-the-phone customer support, The Huffington Post reveals.
AT&T has consistently been hammered by surveys like this over the past year. After being called the "worst carrier" in 2010 by Consumer Reports, JD Power said in August 2011 that AT&T's network was the least reliable in America, and a separate report from the American Customer Satisfaction Index, in May, called AT&T's customers the least happy of the big four carriers.
