AT&T supports adult learning

CBS St Louis reports.

The donation will enable the national organisation to expand workforce skills training for adults aged 50-plus, support national instructor training, e-learning and certification, and equip thousands of adults with the ability to effectively use technology.

The Oasis Institute is a national organisation that offers health and wellness programmes for adults aged 50 and older, St Louis Business Journal notes.

The curriculum offered by Oasis differs from other technology training because it is based on research showing how older adults learn, she said. For example, class booklets feature pictures of a computer screen at each stage of training, enabling students to follow along and then practice what they've learned later, Clayton Richmond Heights says.

The Connections technology training will be offered in St. Louis and 17 other cities, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Indianapolis, Washington, DC, Dallas, Miami and Atlanta.
