ATTO Technology, a worldwide manufacturer of Fibre Channel and SCSI storage connectivity solutions, recently announced that it has begun shipping Macintosh-based Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions for digital video applications. ATTO made the announcement at the recent annual Macworld Expo - the pre-eminent show for Macintosh-based products and applications.

ATTO demonstrated their SAN solution for non-linear digital editing applications featuring Media 100. The demonstration showed how a properly implemented SAN solution can provide digital video users with high levels of scalability, functionality and productivity for digitising, editing and rendering media in a high-speed workgroup environment.
ATTO`s Fibre Channel SAN solution allows multiple users to access and share common data at speeds up to 100 MBps from centralised storage, resulting in greater productivity and profitability. ATTO`s turnkey solution comprises ATTO SAN Volume Management software, ATTO Fibre Channel host adapters, ATTO Fibre Channel hubs and ATTO SCSI-to-Fibre Channel bridging technology.
