Audi adopts Most

SMSC`s Media Oriented Systems Transport (Most) networking technology has been selected as part of the infotainment system by Audi for its A4 model, according to Business Wire.

Most is used today in over 50 car models for various worldwide manufacturers and serves as the communication backbone for their information and entertainment equipment.

"The Most technology is already the in-car network across the A8, A6 and A5 vehicle lines and we are very excited to announce the A4 win, as it secures the highest volume Audi model for Most," said Dr Christian Thiel, VP and MD of SMSC`s automotive group.

The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) and the London Metropolitan University are to collaborate on academic post graduate degree programmes in digital communication and computer networking, reports All Africa.

The acting director of the DBI, engineer Steven Bello, says the collaboration would initially concentrate on a few postgraduate programmes. The courses are specially designed to provide education particularly to Nigerians, and to Africans at large who possess the required educational qualifications, he adds.

Bello states the objective of the collaboration is to address the manpower needs of the telecommunication and information technology industry in Nigeria and Africa.
