Australia establishes local ARTS
Australian retailers have established a local chapter of the world technology standards body, Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS), says Queensland Business Review.
Geoff Pearce, IT commercial manager from the Reject Shop, chairs the newly formed Australian chapter.
Pearce says: "ARTS holds a strong position within the retail industry because it resolves the practical issues of retailers making technology purchased from multiple vendors work together."
RTM acquires retailerINC
Retail Technology Experts has purchased Columbus, Ohio-based Microsoft Dynamics RMS partner retailerINC, states PRWeb.
RetailerINC has been a member of Microsoft's President's Club for the past three years and was awarded the 2007 Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System Partner of the Year.
This acquisition helps the company hit the ground running in terms of having existing infrastructure in place, along with qualified personnel and an existing customer base, said Mahendran Ramanathan, president of Retail Technology Experts.
Mapco implements FuelQuest
FuelQuest is deploying its fuel management system in 500 retail fuel and convenience stores operated by Mapco Express, a subsidiary of Delek US Holdings, reports Bizjournals.
The Houston company provides on-demand software and services for the downstream energy industry.
FuelQuest said Mapco will use the system to enhance the reconcilement of its fuel management processes at its stores located across eight states in the south eastern US.
