Internet Solutions (IS), a leading converged communications services provider, is providing Auto Africa, running at Nasrec from 26 October to 5 November, with enough bandwidth and a WiFi network to service a small town.
"We are providing the show with satellite bandwidth (3meg) and a WiFi network covering the business lounge, press room, IS Internet Caf'e and the open areas in between - about 10 000 square meters," says Shawn Jensen, manager IS Vertical Solutions.
"Attendees will have free Internet access at the IS Internet Caf'e where they and exhibitors can access their e-mail and surf the Web."
Auto Africa Expo has established itself firmly as Africa`s top motor industry exhibition and also one of the leading exhibitions generally staged on the continent.
Spread over most of the Nasrec exhibition area, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the latest technologies from a wide variety of suppliers to the automotive industry as well as new brands being launched at the expo. With many international exhibitors and staff expected, as well as media from across the continent, always on access is essential.
In conjunction with IS, HP will sponsor 16 WiFi laptops for the Internet Caf'e, business lounge and press room.
Jensen said: "IS has numerous clients in the motor industry, from heavy duty trucking companies such as Unitrans and Supergroup, courier, distribution, parts and accessories companies to manufacturers such as BMW. We provide a range of connectivity and total outsourced network/hosting solutions as well as value-added solutions such as enterprise mobility, enabling electronic pods, invoicing and other auto industry-specific solutions."
