Automatic, continuous backup with PowerQuest DataKeeper

Johannesburg, 28 May 1999

Backing up data remains one of corporate users` biggest bugbears, to the extent that millions of users worldwide still don`t back-up properly. PowerQuest has made a move to help PC users with the release of DataKeeper 3.0 which automatically backs up data once configured.

PowerQuest DataKeeper 3.0 is the backup solution for Windows 95/98 that continuously monitors file activity in the background and supports compressed backups on the fly. Once a user configures the program, backups will be created automatically each time a file is modified.

"DataKeeper is easy to configure and can be set up with different modifications," says Dave Terespolsky, MD of local PowerQuest distributor Server Tools. "You choose what to back up and where you want the data saved, and PowerQuest DataKeeper does the rest."

Any removable disk drive, network drive, hard disk or floppy drive is supported by DataKeeper. Because it uses a high compression rate, PowerQuest DataKeeper saves disk space.

"With PowerQuest DataKeeper, you can save all of your backup settings as a specification file," says Terespolsky. "You can create one configuration for a full backup, another for a daily incremental backup, and another for continuous backup of critical directories."

The technology in DataKeeper was developed by Highpoint Technologies of Austin Texas, a recent PowerQuest acquisition. DataKeeper 3.0 is available for download only from PowerQuest`s web site at http://www.powerquest.com
