Business intelligence (BI) company, Cognos, has announced that JM Family Enterprises has selected its Web-based BI solution to extend reporting, analytical, and data visualisation capabilities across the enterprise.
Ranked by Forbes magazine as the 18th-largest privately held company in the U.S, JMFE is a diversified automotive corporation whose principal businesses focus on vehicle distribution and processing, finance and warranty services, and insurance activities. Associates at JMFE will use Cognos Impromptu Web Reports and PowerPlay Web to report on and analyse critical call centre, warranty, and contract claims data, as well as perform historical and trend analysis.
"JMFE was collecting a massive amount of dealer, customer and business data through a variety of channels. We needed a way to aggregate, understand, and analyse that information," says James Reese, vice president of systems development, JMFE. "The Cognos solution is very powerful. In the case of our call centre, associates will be able to access and analyse data over the Web, enabling them to better manage their business. With Cognos, we will be able to better manage our dealer and customer relationships."
In addition, JMFE will implement Cognos Visualizer to deliver high-impact, multi-metric data visualisation capabilities to managers and executives. These visual dashboards allow users to view several reports at once, measure and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and understand the interrelationships between KPIs.
"By deploying Cognos solutions, JMFE has extended its ability to anticipate and better service the changing needs of the client base and share that information across the enterprise," says Dave Laverty, senior vice president, global marketing, Cognos. "Companies using Cognos BI are able to tie front-line activities and decision-making to the overall strategic goals and metrics of the organisation, resulting in the ability to better manage corporate performance."
