Insurance company Momentum, now part of the FirstRand group, has implemented an audiovisual communication solution worth R 1.2 million to enhance internal and external communication.
Dimension Data`s Interactive Communication`s division Videre has fully kitted out Momentum`s new offices in Centurion, Pretoria. The state-of-the-art audiovisual communication equipment and services include everything from acoustic treatment of Momentum`s three auditoriums to visual presentation equipment.
"We chose Dimension Data to equip us with an audiovisual communication solution based on their complete offering, as well as the service we have received from them on the videoconferencing side," says Willie Pretorius, head of IT at Momentum. Dimension Data previously installed sixteen videoconferencing units at Momentum, which have improved the company`s internal and external communication.
In addition to the dedicated videoconferencing room, Momentum now has three well-equipped auditoriums, which can be amalgamated into one by moving panels. This giant auditorium can accommodate over 180 people.
The auditoriums are used by Momentum for presentations to brokers, as well as for internal use. In addition, the life insurance company allows big broker houses to utilise its facilities.
Every convenience is made available to ensure presenters need not concern themselves with the technicalities of the presentation, only with its delivery, says Pretorius.
From a touchpanel control system, the presenter can select various lighting scenes, and sound levels, depending on the nature of the presentation. Projectors, drop down screens, video and other equipment, can also be operated from the touch panel.
In addition, the auditoriums have surround sound so the audience can receive the full benefit of DVD or videotape screenings. Presenters are also able to walk around the auditorium with lapel mic`s and are assured of being heard with crystal clarity due to the local sound reinforcement.
"The sound quality is absolutely spectacular," says Pretorius. "The difference between our current state-of-the-art set-up and our previous do-it-yourself presentation facilities is vast. The quality of our presentations now augments our company image - and we are able to convey professionalism," he says.
"We are more than happy with Dimension Data`s service and are busy setting up a service level agreement. This agreement will provide us with the assurance of smooth, seamless presentations at all times as Dimension Data will have the means to dial into our facilities and provide technical support," concludes Pretorius.
