Avaya has been positioned in the Leaders' Quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications* for 2013. This is the fifth consecutive year that Avaya has been placed in the Leaders' Quadrant and recognised as a key industry player in the unified communications (UC) and collaboration space.
According to Gartner, the enterprise UC market continued to mature over the past 12 months and is now considered by Gartner to be entering the early mainstream adoption phase. The trusted analyst firm predicts that products and best practices both for deployment and increasing end-user adoption will continue to mature during the next several years.
"Avaya's collaboration portfolio enables enterprises of all sizes to seamlessly integrate technologies, regardless of vendor, to increase productivity. Advancements in our Avaya Aura and Avaya IP Office solutions illustrate our focus on scalable technology that increases business agility and lowers costs. Our continued innovation in unified communications with an emphasis on mobility will ensure Avaya's position as a leader in the industry," said Gary E Barnett, senior vice-president and GM, Collaboration Platforms.
The report also says that the stakes for vendors in the enterprise UC market are exceedingly high, and, in some cases, existential due to significant costs, visibility and the business impacts of enterprise technology decisions. According to Gartner, five UC characteristics will have an important effect on the success of a UC product and the satisfaction of users:
1. User experience (UX)
2. Mobility
3. Interoperability
4. Cloud and hybrid
5. Broad solution appeal
Avaya continues to focus on these characteristics, with mobility and broad solution appeal being at the forefront of innovative solutions. Avaya is constantly exploring how enterprises are adapting as users, customers and partners by bringing their own mobile devices into the workplace. Integrating mobility into business processes holds enormous potential to revolutionise the way businesses operate, and Avaya is helping to lead the revolution.
Interoperability and broad solution appeal also mean that many companies need to accommodate a variety of vendors. Avaya's open, mobile communications platform offers a "full stack" solution and also allows integration of systems, devices and applications from multiple vendors that reflect the reality of most business IT environments today. Avaya Aura, the core communications platform, leverages SIP architecture to simplify networks, integrate applications and connect users at every location.
Avaya's unified communications solutions simplify the growing number of technologies that businesses and end-users deal with every day. With Avaya's open architecture and people-centric voice, video, conferencing, presence and messaging applications, users can simply communicate and collaborate in real time, in the mode best suited to each interaction with the device they choose.
