The new generation of e-business applications is at work at an organization that is live on "e by Epicor," a comprehensive suite of proven, Web-enabled solutions for midmarket companies. Epicor Software Corporation, a leading provider of integrated enterprise and eBusiness software exclusively for midmarket companies, today announced that AVCOM deployed e by Epicor to integrate its front and back office operations.
AVCOM Technologies, Sun Microsystems` oldest and largest eIntegrator, provides eService Infrastructures specializing in enterprise databases, networking, security and storage management. AVCOM Technologies serves thousands of customers, which include Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, AT&T and eBay. AVCOM selected Epicor after a thorough analysis of several systems including Great Plains and JD Edwards.
Epicor`s superior integration of front office and back office has been a key factor in AVCOM`s continued growth over the past year.
"Since the implementation of Epicor, our revenues have doubled from $200M to $350M over the past year," said Mark Malone, controller for AVCOM.
"We expect to grow in revenues again in 2001. We believed that the system would pay for itself in three years, however, after only one year of implementation, it appears that we`ll see a complete return on investment by next year."
Employee time is used more effectively now, because Epicor software has allowed for a "type once" environment. This means that when an order is quoted by a sales person it automatically flows through the entire system saving valuable time. The entire process happens with the information being entered from a single point of entry. Epicor`s eIntelligence sales cube has also created detailed analysis of sales on a daily basis, which gives AVCOM the power to proactively adjust pricing, margins and territory assignments.
Epicor eBackOffice and eFrontOffice have been in place at AVCOM since April 2000. Since this implementation, it has been easier for AVCOM to service its customers more effectively. AVCOM is using Epicor`s eCommerce StoreFront to automate its Internet sales of SharkRack, an equipment racking solution that AVCOM makes for Sun Microsystem servers. Epicor`s eFrontOffice Conductor has given AVCOM the ability to send over a 1,000 emails a month to its customers that include order confirmations, customer welcome letters, financing options, and detailed customer invoices. With these products, AVCOM has been able to take a proactive approach in serving its customers, which has increased overall customer satisfaction.
"Duplication of efforts is a drain on resources for many midmarket companies like AVCOM Technologies because their systems are not well connected, " said Mollie Hunter, vice president of product marketing for Epicor. "With e by Epicor, we are offering integration across departments that shortens the purchase order cycle and provides for more accurate data and reporting."
