AVG unveils education site

Anti-virus developer AVG Technologies has unveiled a new division and online Web site, AVG for Education, notes NewsBlaze.

The site has dedicated pages for schools, government institutions and non-profits, which offer AVG anti-virus software.

AVG protects over one million computers in US K-12 schools and claims to be helping institutions across the nation combat criminals through its anti-virus detection and performance capabilities.

Programme to help college teachers

Bellevue College is commencing a new 'e-Learning for Educators' professional development programme for K-12 and college teachers who wish to bring the benefits of online learning to students, writes BellevueReporter.

The new programme at the college teaches educators how to integrate new instructional technology into their courses, whether they teach in a traditional 'in-class' venue, a fully online setting or in a hybrid format that blends the two approaches.

“Our e-learning programme is ideal for experienced educators who already have great teaching skills but want to find out how they can further student learning by teaching partly or fully online,” says Norma Whitacre, who directs the programme.

The Visit Brazil Travel Association (VBRATA) Web site is set to start its new online travel training programme in October, reports Traveldaily.

This new portal, which enables travel agents to become specialists in Brazil, has been commenced ahead of both the World Cup and the Olympics.

“Watch out for more updates on the VBRATA Web site - we'll continue providing more and more assets and information to make agents' lives easier,” says the Brazilian tourism board's Chris Fuzinatto.
