SCS Distribution, the sole distributor in Southern Africa for Axis Communications, today announced that in collaboration with Panasonic, Axis Communications has developed a combined print- and document server, which will be launched jointly with Panasonic during the first quarter of 2002.
This allows Panasonic`s photocopiers to be connected to networks, making it possible to both print and distribute documents electronically. The solution has been developed within the framework of the strategic collaboration between the two companies.
The new product, the AXIS 7100, is unique in its class and combines a traditional print server with a document server. When a photocopier in Panasonic`s WORKiO series is connected to an AXIS 7100, it can also function as a printer and as a mean of distributing documents electronically. The Axis solution also supports RightFax, which enables fax distribution of electronic documents.
Technical solutions from Axis allow Panasonic to offer its customers a highly useful product, facilitating everyday office work.

Axis sees a clear trend for an increasing number of electronic appliances to be connected to networks. Included among Axis` OEM customers are a number of well-known manufacturers of printers and copiers.
