Possibly the biggest disappointment for many new desktop purchasers is arriving home only to discover the software they assumed came with their new computer... didn't.
Bruce Murphy, Axiz desktop product manager, explains that Axiz has come up with an innovative remedy to this situation - all Axiz desktops are now Microsoft Office 2007 ready. This means that clients get the opportunity to try Microsoft Office 2007 out for themselves on their new desktops before purchasing the software.
"By supplying clients with a desktop on which they can try and test the software with the option to subsequently buy it, Axiz is giving users the ultimate in freedom of choice. We're also doing our bit to minimise piracy as users know they will need to purchase the product if they do decide to use it," says Murphy.
This intelligent, innovative approach to the common dilemma of choosing and buying the right software means that users are now assured of a fantastic "out of the box" experience: hardware with optional software included.
"Instead of the purchaser incorrectly assuming that Microsoft Office is part of the operating system, they are now advised by the reseller during their initial enquiry that they will have the option of purchasing it if they're happy after testing it themselves. It's just another way we at Axiz are doing our bit to ensure our clients go home with both exactly what they paid for and exactly what they want," he adds.
In the case of the user subsequently wishing to purchase the software, resellers contact Axiz and buy the Media-less Licence Kits (MLK) from the infrastructure distributor, making their clients' products legal.
Murphy says that home users, small businesses and home offices have responded exceptionally well to the new model, as it gives them that much more freedom of choice. He says the market can look forward to other developments in this space - including Microsoft Office Prepaid for lower LSM markets.
With so much more freedom of choice allowed by this new model, anyone in the market for a new desktop would be well advised to look at the comprehensive Axiz range on offer. Not only will they be guaranteed a cutting-edge product with no hidden costs or disappointments, but will also be supporting our local IT industry well into the future.
