Axiz releases Kingston's 256GB DataTraveler 300

Johannesburg, 23 Jul 2009

The 256GB DataTraveler 300 (DT300) USB flash drive, from Axiz, offers the largest capacity in Kingston's line of DataTraveler USB drives. It allows users to carry around an entire digital world, from thousands of image files to a complete database of documents.

Users will also benefit from quick transfer rates of up to 20MB/sec and the option to password-protect their data.

Ephraim Dube, Axiz Product Manager: Kingston Flash, says with a capacity higher than some PCs it's connected to, the device takes flash storage to a new level.

“The proliferation of digital content is driving an increased demand for storage capacity, which is what makes high-capacity USB flash drives very sought after. With the DT 300 you can carry huge volumes of data with you everywhere you go - up to 365 CDs, for example. That's a CD for every day of the year! This type of capacity certainly demonstrates just how far flash technology has come.”

The flash drive is fully compatible with Windows Vista, XP and Windows 2000 as well as Mac OS X 10.3 and Linux 2.6. It features a sleek capless design that will protect the USB connector when it is not in use and it is also enhanced for Windows Readyboost. The DT300, which is built to order, is only available in 256GB and is backed by a five-year warranty and 24/7 technical support. Customers who want to get their hands on one can place an order with any of Axiz's resellers and e-tailers.

The recommended retail price of the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 is R6 655 (excl VAT).
