Axiz ships 250 000th locally assembled HP desktop

Johannesburg, 06 Jun 2006

Axiz and HP recently shipped the 250 000th locally assembled desktop PC when they delivered a dx2000 Microtower to Business Connexion. John David, HP desktop product manager at Axiz, says: "This is a major milestone and reinforces HP quality and reliability."

David says there was a reluctance within the enterprise space to purchase locally manufactured PCs, but HP`s locally assembled DX range of desktop PCs has changed these perceptions. Widely accepted across all market segments, the DX range uses only HP components and adheres to strict international assembly and manufacturing processes and procedures.

He says as a result of this demand, HP`s assembly plant in Midrand, which was established three years ago, has moved to a larger premise.
