AXS-One receives SAP certification for enterprise content management solution

Interoperability between systems with both structured and unstructured data improves rules-based data access, reuse of content and application integration
Johannesburg, 31 Mar 2004

AXS-One Inc, a leading provider of records management and enterprise content management solutions, today announced that its AXS-One Enterprise Content Manager has been successfully certified by SAP AG for SAP R/3 application archival. This certification by a leading ERP vendor strengthens AXS-One`s positioning as a technology leader for enterprise-class archival and information lifecycle management solutions.

AXS-One developed its AXS-Link product, a cross-application interface providing R/3 business applications with archive functionality, as the interface between its archive and the SAP R/3 system utilising SAP ArchiveLink. Once archived in AXS-One`s archive, the content can be stored, indexed, managed, and repurposed by AXS-One Enterprise Content Manager to automate business processes throughout the information lifecycle. SAP performance enhancements can be realised once legacy or non-dynamic content is archived and managed by the AXS-One Enterprise Content Manager. Most importantly, SAP data can be combined and correlated with non-SAP data, providing managers with a total view of their organisation.

"SAP clients have been looking for a more tightly integrated content management solution to manage all their data, outgoing documents such as billing documents, incoming scanned documents and link them to SAP documents such as invoices and print lists that are generated in SAP for improved control and transparency," said Peter Mojica, VP of product marketing and business development, AXS-One Inc. "We now can provide them with this capability and link in e-mail and other document types as well."

He continued: "With this broader view of their enterprise, SAP customers can use the process management capabilities of our product to do more than simply archive data. The AXS-One Enterprise Content Manager supports compliance and governance processes, bill presentment and other transactional processes to increase their operational efficiency and help manage their risks."

John Rade, President and Chief Executive Officer of AXS-One Inc, added: "SAP has 12 million users and over 67 000 installations worldwide. This represents a market for us unto itself and we believe AXS-One Enterprise Content Manager, now certified for use with SAP ArchiveLink presents a tremendous opportunity, which we intend to exploit fully. The product fills a well-known need of SAP customers. We have deployed a pre-release version of the product to several clients and initial feedback has been very positive."
