AXS-One wins RAF contract

Johannesburg, 11 Mar 2002

AXS-One African Solutions today announced that in December 2001, The Road Accident Fund (RAF) awarded it a contract to provide a collaborative commerce infrastructure, ie an integrated claims document image processing and financial administrative system, based on AXS-One Enterprise, the premier business process driven financial management solution of AXS-One.

The AXS-One Enterprise solution will provide the RAF with the necessary infrastructure to support the business process re-engineering exercise that is currently underway and was highlighted during the recent Budget speech.

The RAF has embarked on a process of reform to comply with, among other pressures, a higher degree of accountability and social responsibility. The RAF`s goal is to provide a faster, secure, effective and reliable service to its clients and is committed to manage public funds efficiently, eliminate fraud, corruption and any form of collusion between various parties.

The implementation of this integrated system will enable the Road Accident Fund community to work collaboratively to provide quality services and programs for the respective stakeholders. Collaborative approaches, enabled by technology, will facilitate the administrative tasks of the institution, enhance the quality and scope of the service provided by the RAF and position the RAF to respond creatively to the changing demands being placed on the organisation.

The RAF is the custodian of the State`s Road Accident Fund Act 56 of 1996. It acts as a service delivery department, providing compulsory insurance for road accident victims and pays compensation in accordance with applicable statutes for personal loss or damage, wrongfully caused by the driving of motor vehicles. The implementation of AXS-One`s solutions to more than 1 500 users enables them to simplify the administrative tasks, enhance the quality and scope of services provided, and better position the RAF to handle future changes.

"Our desire was to automate our business processes and improve efficiencies in claims processing by sharing information with service providers, clients and other stakeholders in an easy to access system," commented Sello Mokale, CIO, Road Accident Fund. "The integrated and complete solution offered by AXS-One African Solutions offered true end-to-end financials, workflow, information sharing, and customer access. The AXS-One Enterprise solution is key to driving improved relationships with our partners and creating value-add through the basis of collaboration."

The AXS-One Enterprise a suite of integrated e-financial and business solutions isdesigned to measure and optimise the mission-critical business processes that directly affect the overall performance of the Fund. AXS-One has pioneered high-volume, scalable, workflow-enabled financial applications, designed to speed up business processes with bottom-line benefits in terms of cost reductions, improved productivity and eliminate the issues of fraud. Additionally, AXS-One offers a unique approach to rapid deployment of Internet-based self-service solutions with easy access by employees, customers and partners.

"I am pleased to announce that this deal is the third in a series of `wins` within the South African Public Sector. In December, we signed a contract with the Road Accident Fund to provide them with a complete set of financials, powered by workflow and incorporating our self-service technology," said Al Clegg, CEO of AXS-One African Solutions. "Road Accident Fund joins the other two entitlement agencies in SA that are already our clients: The Unemployment Insurance Fund and the Compensation Commission (workers compensations for accidents)."
