LG Electronics SA has introduced an array of greener IT products and B2B solutions in SA, targeted at educational institutions, hospitals and offices.
This range includes monitors, projectors, notebooks and video conferencing solutions.
According to LG, its new product line-up is a direct response to the increase in demand for business products with a blend of consumer features. “Our products are equally suited for office or home use,” the company says.
LG also says the range is in line with its eco-design strategy, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of product development, production, circulation and hazardous materials, while improving efficiency of resources and recyclability.
These products are also claimed to be energy efficient.
The MD of LG Electronics SA, JM Lee, says companies should do more with less to save time and money and also run businesses that are more eco-friendly and kinder to the environment.
In a world where energy costs are skyrocketing, organisations should focus on producing products and solutions that are more energy efficient, he says.
“Each and every one of us can make a small difference to the whole planet by simply looking at ways to work smarter.”
Lee says business issues that IT managers and business decision-makers face in an ever-changing technology environment include cost-effective deployments of IT infrastructure and hardware that positively affect a customer's bottom line, and ensuring that they retain a competitive edge within their specific marketplace.
Last year, LG Electronics rolled out a green campaign aimed at reducing greenhouse gases from its manufacturing by 150 000 tonnes and products by 30 000 tonnes by 2020.
