Backup Facebook photos with Seagate Backup Plus
Ever consider just how many of your treasured photos are on Facebook or Flickr? Lucky for you, Seagate has, TechnoBuffalo reports.
The company has introduced a new slew of backup drives, called Backup Plus, which can stash those cloud-based images for you. (Of course, that's not the only type of data it can house, but it's by far the most intriguing.)
As with other solutions, it can perform standard backups - like straight from your home computer to the drive - or be set up with scheduling for specific times in just a few clicks. For backing up social media data, users just have to provide their Facebook and Flickr logins, grant access permission, and the software handles the rest.
Like the GoFlex line, the Backup Plus generation is future-proofed, thanks to the Universal Storage Module (USM) standard, which lets users easily add the latest connection capabilities to their drives, even if those technologies are introduced at a later date, PCMag writes.
Backup Plus drives are compatible with both Windows and Mac systems.
Available in red, blue, silver and black, the Seagate Backup Plus line-up will be available immediately online and in traditional retail outlets, and can also be purchased directly from Seagate. These new drives will be available in capacities of 500GB ($119.99), 750GB ($129.99), and 1TB ($139.99). Although Backup Plus drives work interchangeably with Windows and Mac, units specifically designed for Macs are additionally available in silver and will ship in 500GB ($119.99) and 1TB ($139.99) capacities.
