Bytes Communications Systems (BCS) has come out in strong support of the new direction taken by Alcatel, in providing enterprises with strategic solutions in and around the technology communications space.
Says George Isaacson, Managing Director of BCS: "After extensive research into the market, Alcatel has identified a number of key areas where the company can add value through technology to its customers. These areas include convergence, user-centric applications and managed communication services, all with the express purpose of improving customer productivity and improving return on investment.
"In our own experience, customers are looking for solutions which add to the overall technology experience, and the new global strategy as rolled out by Alcatel falls perfectly in line with what we aim to achieve locally."
Within the convergence space clients are demanding that the solutions they implement be able to straddle both voice and data technologies, and they also want solutions which provide convergence between infrastructure and applications as well as communications and ICT.
In the applications space, clients are demanding that the software they invest in be able to improve the customer experience with the company through simple voice greetings to a multimedia contact centre, as well as operational efficiency such as tools for agents and supervisors to enhance service delivery. When it comes to internal application-based service delivery, clients are looking for solutions which assist employees with improved productivity from mobility to rich presence.
Some key technology drivers looking forward include growing the number of applications in and around the IP communications space, and tying this back into contact centre offerings. In addition to which the company has announced that it will continue to cater for and improve its services and products to the SMB market. According to Isaacson, the SMB market remains a key focus to BCS itself and it will ensure it continues to address this market by providing it with cost-effective technology options from the LAN through to the PABX.
"IPT continues to be a growing market but in its vanilla form it does not provide clients with any real value. It is based on this that we see the real value coming from applications designed around the user concentrating on business processes within an organisation, in addition to which we also see key value in areas such as outsourcing and out-tasking," he adds.
