BEA Systems, a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, last week announced the availability of MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition, an integrated, mobile platform designed to help customers mobilise online data and business processes.
Targeting enterprises in both the telecommunications industry and other business markets, this innovation can extend the service-oriented architecture (SOA) technology within BEA WebLogic Portal 8.1 to help provide a more simple, rapid and cost-effective approach to accessing and delivering a broad set of data via diverse mobile devices.
As applications and data become increasingly dispersed throughout an enterprise, they can also become less accessible. By using an integrated mobility platform, telecommunications companies can more rapidly provide new revenue-producing data services, and business can more broadly distribute enterprise information to customers, employees and partners.
MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition is a new technology platform designed to help provide multi-channel access to Web and online assets. Enterprises can broaden the effectiveness of business-critical systems for customers, employees and partners, and mobile carriers can rapidly deploy new, data-centric services, without the need for re-training and re-tooling. Because it is designed to allow companies to leverage existing processes, applications and software components across multiple channels, the MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition can be highly cost-effective.

In addition to leveraging BEA WebLogic Portal, the MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition is designed to work closely with the BEA WebLogic Platform: the MobileAware Interaction Server uses the BEA WebLogic Platform development, execution, personalisation and presentation capabilities - allowing companies to transparently add a mobile presentation layer. The development environment of the MobileAware Interaction Server, BEA WebLogic Edition is tightly integrated with the BEA WebLogic Workshop development tool, the development environment of the BEA WebLogic Platform.
