ITWeb will be its quarterly Free Beer Session this week.

According to Obsidian, the sessions serve as a platform for discussions and insight around open source technology.

Jason Norwood-Young, head honcho at 10Layer, will discuss practical infrastructure scaling for millions of users in the cloud while Muggie van Staden, managing director at Obsidian, will talk about The Bee Keeper - a description of professional open source business models.

After the talks, attendees will have an opportunity to ask the speakers questions, discuss industry trends, network with their peers and enjoy hot pizza and ice cold beer.

The Free Beer Session will take place at Primi Life at the Lifestyle Garden Centre on Thursday 21 October at 6:30pm.

Interested attendees can go to http://freebeer.linux.co.za for further information and to register. The event is limited to 80 attendees on a first come, first served basis.
