Blackboard, SAP accelerate e-learning

Blackboard and SAP AG have announced a global agreement to accelerate innovation of business processes for higher institutions.

By leveraging the SAP NetWeaver platform as the foundation to create interoperability between administrative and academic technology, teachers, students and administrators will regularly have access to the most up-to-date information they need to enhance the learning experience and improve administrative efficiency, the company says.

Facilitated by Web services made possible with enterprise -oriented architecture, this offering will enable real-time business processing between applications from Blackboard and SAP.

VTU to publish e-learning content

Visvesvaraya Technological University's (VTU) e-learning centre has come out with a proposal for collaborating with publishers like Pearson to get the e-learning content of the titles which have been adopted by VTU , either as textbooks or as reference books.

VTU and Pearson have agreed to work together in e-learning domain of engineering education in India. Pearson has agreed to provide e-content of subjects of VTU. Pearson will conduct faculty development programmes for selected students and faculty members about usage/development of such e-learning content.

This e-learning content can be used by students and faculty members of VTU and its affiliated institutions. VTU will facilitate and host the e-learning subjects in its centre and provide access codes to its faculty and students.
