Blue Coat boosts earnings, appoints CFO
Blue Coat Systems' earnings swung to a profit in the fiscal first quarter, as the Internet security company increased its market share and revenue, reports The Wall Street Journal.
Shares were up 6% in after-market trading Tuesday, after the company announced both strong earnings and the appointment of chief financial officer (CFO) Gordon Brooks.
Brooks will officially join the company from 1 September. He was previously vice-president at virtualisation giant VMware.
Fortisphere hires new CEO
Cloud computing company Fortisphere has appointed Siki Giunta as its new CEO, says Washington Business Journal.
Giunta was CEO of Managed Objects since 1999. Giunta built Managed Objects from a pre-revenue start-up 10 years ago to its $50 million sale to Novell last year.
Giunta replaces US tech veteran Michael Harper at the helm of the company.
Pano Logic appoints VP
Virtual desktop provider Pano Logic has hired Matt Alfano as vice-president of business development, states Business Wire.
In this role, Alfano will be responsible for developing the company's strategic technology partnerships and alliances.
He joins Pano Logic from Wyse, a thin client solutions provider, where he served as the senior director of business development.
