Blue Turtle launches Managed Objects Formula 3.5 BSM solution

Blue Turtle Technologies, a leading solutions provider specialising in IT infrastructure management, is pleased to announce the release of Managed Objects Formula 3.5, an updated version of the Managed Objects Business Service Management (BSM) solution, in SA. The new release incorporates two new products and key customer-driven enhancements.

Managed Objects` BSM solution enables large organisations to view their entire infrastructure - not merely as components - but as a business services. This concept has revolutionised the control IT managers exert on technology and enhances the value organisations can derive from existing infrastructure.

"The new release encompasses over 150 customer requests as well as a number of key customer-driven enhancements, including the introduction of two new products that automate the discovery and generation of business service views and a virtual configuration management database," says Healy.

Customer requested improvements to the product and new product features include the following:

Managed Objects Business Technology Insight (BTI) Adapter and Appliance: Version 3.5 introduces the BTI Adapter and Appliance which provides passive, agent less discovery of elements throughout the managed and unmanaged IT enterprise, providing Formula with a complete and accurate IT topology.

Managed Objects Business Service Configuration Manager (BSCM): Version 3.5 introduces the Business Service Configuration Manager, which lets IT effectively view and manage changes that occur with the IT enterprise. BSCM automates the dynamic generation of business service views, mapping discovered relationships and dependencies across the enterprise, integrating real-time management system feeds, and correlating this information into a virtual CMDB. Through this vCMDB, IT operations have a complete and comprehensive real-time view of all relevant configuration item (CI) information.

Enhanced Business Service Dashboard: Version 3.5 introduces substantial operational reporting improvements, including frame support with the ability to dynamically drive portlets based on element selection in the navigator portlet, and the ability to optionally link to various information displays from within a single portlet.

Enhanced Business Service Level Manager: Version 3.5 introduces several key features to BSLM, including multi-tiered agreements, weighted objectives applied to health rules for calculating agreement health, and the ability to view and manage outages.
