BMC Software SA to host event on important industry developments, at Vodaworld

BMC Software SA, a leading global provider of enterprise management solutions that empower companies to automate their IT and align it to the needs of the business, will be hosting its Forum event on Thursday, 4 October 2007, at Vodaworld, in Midrand, Johannesburg.

The forum will focus on a number of important industry topics, including: Data Centres of the Future: When a silo dies, who will be around to hear it? and: Mainframe Importance Today and Tomorrow in a BSM Strategy.

The event will also play host to BMC international guest speaker, Peter Armstrong, talking on business service management (BSM); international BMC mainframe Vice-President Nick Glover; the world's foremost authority on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Pink Elephant; and Arjen Wiersma, country manager for BMC Software sub-Saharan Africa.

Mainframe continues to be an important and influential industry talking point with BMC's recent (annual) global mainframe survey concluding that companies still view the mainframe as a viable and healthy platform; crucial to the success of mission-critical applications.

The survey also stated that companies identified BMC as the overall technology leader in the space, specifically in the DB2, IMS, batch scheduling, monitoring and automation product segments.

In addition to its keynote addresses, the BMC Software SA Forum will - during its breakaway sessions - focus on relevant topics, such as: Transform IT Operations by becoming Proactive: Service Impact and Event Management and Getting Value from your CMDB; as well as a BSM customer case study with Absa Capital. Attendees will also learn more about how BMC Software's strategies and solutions can strengthen companies' BSM endeavours.
