Botnet steals 60GB data

A criminal gang has stolen over 60GB of using a botnet that has infected around 55 000 computers around the world, according to a report from company AVG, ZDNet reports.

The botnet, which AVG has dubbed 'Mumba', has compromised systems in the UK, as well as in the US, Germany and Spain, the company says.

The stolen credentials found by AVG's researchers include bank account numbers, credit card details and social-networking logins.

HSE chooses 2X app server

HSE Integrated has chosen a 2X ApplicationServer solution from 2X Software to ensure efficient remote application delivery, TMCnet says.

Each of HSE Integrated's locations requires access to its Calgary centralised centre, to access applications and centralised storage.

The company deployed Microsoft Terminal Services to handle remote network access, and although this solution initially met its basic needs, IT director Ryan Barg found that it “fell short in several key areas as our complexity increased.” After evaluating several solutions, he found his requirements were easily met with the 2X ApplicationServer solution.
