Through alliances with companies in Hong Kong and China, new Gauteng software developer and integrator Brainbug Interconnect is looking to create a reseller network to sell its imported data recovery microchip.
"Brainbug Interconnect is in a process of establishing a nationwide dealer network on a franchise basis in order to sell and support the new chip," says Brainbug Interconnect CEO Aadil Aaboobaker.
"Brainbug is looking at franchising its chip to unemployed IT professionals around the country, empowering them to get into their own business at a low cost, and over time nurture these franchisees into fully-fledged IT businesses, creating economic development and employment," says Aaboobaker.
"The HD Safe Recovery Card has already been installed at two test sites: a pharmacy in Pretoria, which runs nine networked PCs, and a motor dealer in Middleburg running 25 networked PCs. Since installing the HD Safe Recovery Card in June, both test sites are saving about R7 000 per month. The chip is available at a retail price of R500.
"The HD Safe Recovery Card is loaded into a machine`s motherboard and it automatically creates a recovery partition and backs-up/protects the operating system. The card will ensure that no damage is done to the operating system," says Aaboobaker.
