Brocade integrates with MS
Networking solution provider Brocade has integrated its Brocade IronView Network Manager with Microsoft Forefront 'Stirling', reports TMCnet.
The integrated tool, according to Brocade officials, acts as the Forefront 'Stirling' gateway for Brocade switches, routers, and wireless LAN products.
With this tool, network operators can track and perform configuration changes and software updates, identify and resolve network failures, and address network security breaches from a centralised location.
D-Link unveils Ethernet adaptor kit
D-Link has made available its DXN221 Coax Ethernet Adaptor Kit which allows users to extend their wired home network to any other part of the home by tapping into their existing cable wiring, says Digital Home.
The kit was originally slated to hit retail shelves last fall for $200 but was delayed until this spring and costs $240.
The DXN221 kit is suited for bandwidth-demanding applications such as high-definition media streaming, where wireless networks often fail. Inside the kit users will find two Coax Ethernet adapters, each of which includes an Ethernet port as well as a Coaxial F-type connector.
Net president steps down
Network Equipment Technologies' (Net) president is stepping down after 22 years with the California-based company, states TMCnet.
Gary Lau, president of Net Federal and an officer of Net, will be replaced by James Fitzpatrick, who joins as Net Federal president and will also serve as an officer.
During his tenure, Lau supervised a transitional period for the enterprise VOIP access switching and gateway solutions provider as the company moved from regional player to global provider.
