In a deal valued at R1.3 million, the Builders Warehouse group has installed the Unisolv electronic point of sale solution from retail software solution provider, CKS, at two of its Builders Warehouse outlets and three Tile Warehouse stores in Roodepoort, Rustenburg and Centurion.
This takes the number of outlets in the group that are running on Unisolv to 15.
Builder`s Warehouse is using CKS`s Unisolv software system for centralised control over functions that include stock and debtors management, point-of-sale functions - including integrated EFT for credit and debit card transactions - as well as purchasing and creditors management.
CKS, a member of the JSE Securities Exchange-listed UCS Group, has also installed its Unisolv software, with its comprehensive dispensing and claim reconciliation modules, at 1 100 pharmacies in southern Africa.
Massmart, SA`s third largest distributor of consumer goods, bought the Builders Warehouse and Tile Warehouse businesses for R140 million late last year. Builders Warehouse and Tile Warehouse generate sales of around R500 million a year, while Massmart notched up a revenue of R16.7 billion for the year ended June 2002.
