The IQ Business Group has appointed a new chairman - Willie Scholtz, Business Against Crime CEO and former CEO of IBM SA.
He replaces former Mettle CEO Ian Matthews, who will remain on the IQ board.
The group says the replacement is in line with a transition at IQ as it gears itself for increased internationalisation.
"The IQ Business Group is in transition both in terms of its phase of growth and the maturity of its operations," says CEO Johan Roets. "It was important to us that our board reflected this.
"While Ian Matthews is outstanding in determining parameters for start-up ventures, IQ now requires a chairman with different skills. The company now delivers multi-country staffed projects to multinational clients across several divisions within the group."
He adds that Scholtz`s more than 28 years in the IT industry means he brings a wealth of corporate experience to IQ, particularly in its current development phase, and has a significant advisory role to play.
He is also to act as mentor to IQ`s relatively young management team.
The IQ Business Group, which was started by a four-man team in 1998, has grown to more than 800 members of staff with operations in Sydney and Melbourne, in Australia; London in the UK, and Boston and Atlanta in the US.
Last year it reported 80% growth in annual turnover to R334 million.
