Business Connexion awarded Symantec Platinum Partner status

Johannesburg, 21 Jul 2010

Further establishing Business Connexion's reputation as a uniquely skilled provider of security solutions, the company has recently been awarded Platinum Partner status by Symantec.

Symantec is recognised as a global leader in providing security, storage and systems management solutions to help consumers and organisations secure and manage their information-driven world. Its software and services protect against more risks at more points, more completely and efficiently, enabling confidence wherever information is used or stored.

“Symantec fits very well with Business Connexion's commitment to offer the best possible security solutions with top support,” says Eric McGee, divisional manager - security for Unified Network Services at Business Connexion.

“Since 1982, Symantec has had a leading role in developing anti-virus software, from desktops to servers and entire enterprise networks. With later acquisitions, the company has expanded to offer storage, availability and desktop management solutions, which are a necessary part of a complete security profile.”

Business Connexion has an established reputation for highly skilled staff who deliver immediate local support to customers. “We believe we were awarded Platinum Partner status because of our track record and skilled support,” says McGee.

“The security specialists at Business Connexion work closely with other divisions. This ensures the complete solutions we deliver meet the highest possible standards for security, as well as providing the business benefits that are the primary goal of those solutions.

“This is critical on internal networks. Studies show that the major risk factor in security today is from the inside. It is just as critical when a customer is implementing a Web-enabled or cloud solution, where all the possible external risks have to be taken into account.”

In real terms, what the Symantec Platinum Partner status means for Business Connexion's customers is even better service than before.

“As Platinum Partners, we have faster and more extensive access to local and international expert support from Symantec,” says McGee. “There is an existing advantage for our customers in that we have highly qualified, locally available staff to support security solutions. But now we have even better access to a greater range of support from the vendor themselves.

“Security is an ongoing challenge where the risk and threat factors are constantly changing. That is why businesses need to know they have immediate support from the leading product vendors and solutions providers like ourselves.”
