Business Connexion secures Cisco Customer Advocacy Award MEA

Johannesburg, 25 Apr 2006

Business Connexion has won the 2005 Cisco Customer Advocacy Award for Emerging Markets in the Middle East and Africa region.

According to Brian Tarr, managing executive of Business Connexion`s Networks Competency, this is the third time the organisation has secured the accolade. "The award is based on a combination of factors including client satisfaction and the successful introduction of advanced technologies into client environments," he says.

Cisco has recently modified its go-to-market strategy by separating its regions into emerging and developed markets rather than dividing them along strict geographical lines. Tarr believes this is a positive move, allowing Cisco and its partners to approach the unique needs of Africa and other emerging markets more effectively.

"Because of the low level of technology penetration in emerging markets, it is possible to introduce latest technologies with an `everything IP [Internet Protocol] approach`. As a result, Cisco and its partners are experiencing exponential growth," he says.

The competition among systems integrators is therefore intense. Tarr believes Business Connexion`s strong outsourcing capability played a key role in securing the award. "In this particular client environment, Business Connexion has played the role of a trusted advisor. Cisco technology has also been shown to deliver tremendous business value to client organisations.

"In addition, we`ve never shied away from a participative approach, drawing on Cisco`s expertise where necessary to ensure the success of advanced network projects," he says.

The Cisco Customer Advocacy Award for Emerging Markets MEA joins Business Connexion`s Cisco Security Partner of the Year - South Africa 2005 and Cisco Product Champion of the Year 2005 - South Africa (received by the late Claudius Barnardo) awards.
