At IBM's "Best of the Best" Business Partner Awards ceremony held in Johannesburg recently, IBM recognised Business Connexion as its Top Business Partner for 2007.
Competing against resellers, consultants, integrators, and independent software vendors throughout central and southern Africa, Business Connexion was selected by IBM because of its impact on the marketplace and value delivered.
Business Connexion also received two other awards: Leadership in BladeCentre Solutions and Outstanding IBM Information Storage Solution. IBM cited the company's ability to deliver total solutions that provide demonstrable real-world benefits as criteria behind these awards. Abrie Peens, general manager of Business Connexion's IBM business unit, says: "We are delighted with these accolades. We see them as proof that our long-term strategy of investing in skills and certifications to maximise the benefits of IBM solutions for our clients, is paying off."
Although the company is product agnostic and recommends the best solution for individual client requirements, Business Connexion is a tier one IBM business partner and has seen the partnership grow from strength to strength over the past few years.
Peens says: "Winning this top award is the achievement of a vision set by Business Connexion in 2005. Since then, our business with IBM has grown more than threefold and our IBM skills now rank first in South Africa. This is also as a result of our response to market demands with regards to trends towards consolidation and virtualisation. Our concerted effort to understand and address our client needs in this space, has enabled us to leverage the relevant IBM technologies through innovation - and our clients are seeing the benefits."
Stelio Frasco, IBM South and Central Africa channel executive, says: "The close collaboration between Business Connexion and IBM has often resulted in solutions which surprise clients in their cost-effectiveness. Combining IBM's international skills with Business Connexion's local expertise has ensured solutions which are offered to clients meet their current business requirements with room to grow should it be necessary. Simply put, the solutions are smarter."
Peens concludes: "We look forward to continuing our winning partnership with IBM to create further value for our clients together."
