Business continuity market to hit $40bn
continuity and disaster data recovery solutions will grow to nearly $40 billion by 2015, Market Wire reports.
Larry Fisher, ABI Research director, notes: “...Business continuity and disaster recovery technologies are becoming less expensive and easier to use, in part because they are being integrated into larger IT systems.”
However, Fisher adds that cloud computing and virtualisation have also improved the availability of data recovery solutions, Ontrack Data Recovery writes.
The increasing spending on data recovery is coming at just the right time, as new research by EMC recently revealed that more than half of firms lost data last year.
Nevertheless, 27% of organisations polled admitted that it took encountering data recovery problems to prompt them to increase their spend in the area.
